I must have been tired when I wrote my first comment. This is a very fun trail to ride. I really dig the end of the trail where the trees kinda close in around you right after the the ground turns from the slate stuff. It is a great compliment to the end of a really fun day.

It sucks because I have to go slow with my bike. I rented a Specialized enduro downtown and it took some time to get used to but I got the hang of it the time we reached poly creek. I wished I had it when we came to the rock garden the next time we went though.

I ride a 2003 hardrock pro with 2.4 inch tires and a dirt jumper front fork. I like to run my tires at 55 psi. I am 294LBS

California USA, about 2 hours from Sacramento.It's one of those wonderful rides, the Pauley divide is awesome as well. there's 3 main divides some you can ride for 4+ hours downhill and see totally different trails the entire way. We are blessed here with great rides. So many trails and so little time

Well, you call them "alternate", I call them the lines. There are some drops, not cliffs or anything, but it also relates to your speed. There are no drops if you are slow, you can technically roll over everything. But if you're going fast, there are some 5-6 foot drops and 10-15 foot distance launches. It's also really rough, if I had taken a hardtail I would have snapped it in half riding at the speed in the vid.

there aren't any big drops on the downhill unless you take alternative lines to get to them.

haha yah my bro said that the first part is the hardest due to rock gardens and stuff.good thing i didnt sign up for the race tommmorrow
