Existing federal law prohibits convicted felons, individuals convicted of violent misdemeanors, domestic abusers, juveniles, and people with serious mental illnesses from buying or owning guns.Additional "reasonable thoughtful gun control measures" will not deter criminals who do not abide by or respect existing laws they; this is what politicians who are proponents of gun-control refuse to admit and this is what the people who support gun-control fail to understand.

The definition of "criminal" is "one who does not obey the law." By making laws to ban guns, the only people suffering are the lawful gun owners, because by definition, a criminal will get a gun regardless of the law.A vote for Obama is a vote against the constitution.
