Unfortunately, this video is spot on. As an American visiting Kauai, I was overwhelmed NOT by the beauty of the Na Pali coast, but by the traffic that chokes the entire east-to-north corridor. Unlike other islands, Polynesian culture has been nearly eradicated (unless you count luxury hotel cornball luaus). Oh, and you may want to search news feeds for "ice" (aka, crystal meth). Go to Moorea in F.P. instead -- more beauty, less cars, virtually no white trash American mainlanders (God willing).

I spent 6 months on kauai from 8/07 to 3/08. I seen everything going on there from the super ferry to the traffic to the rude ass locals. There is one thing i can say about kauai....What a fucked up place!!! The workmanship is poor on everything. the price of milk is 8 bucks a gallon. the people are fucking rude ass hell. cocaine was 250 bucks an 8 ball. the weed i got there was pretty good for the most part. but had to deal with stupid ass locals when all they wanted to do was rip you off.

That was BRILLIANT. I went to Kauai last month and LOVED it, but I could tell that I was already too late. There was overdevelopment everywhere. I feel really sorry for the locals.
