ive seen the movie just recently. and my goodness, its really unspeakably disturbing. it really protraited the darkest things man could ever think of. (i know its nothing compared to the book, well, thanks, but i have no plans to read it)

Two words - Abu Ghraib. How frightening when you think about the soldiers posing and having fun at the expense of people's complete misery. This film is one of the most disturbing films ever made but comes frighteningly close to reality

Pasolini was the only one who had the courage to show in a film the brutality and pervertion of power!! Think about what happened in Abu Ghraib prison, and that is reality!!

i think this film is very poetic in its evil, i don't find it disturbing or horrific, the only part that frightened me a little was at the beginning a boy runs off, gets shot, and the president is just watching. that made me feel un easy. |
