Die Wehrmacht-Ausstellung war von Anfang an umstritten. Während für die einen damit die gesamte Wehrmacht als verbrecherische Organisation verdammt wurde, zeigten sich andere erleichtert, daß das Kapitel von der Beteiligung einzelner Mitglieder der Wehrmacht an Kriegsverbrechen endlich öffentlich behandelt wurde. Zeitzeugen und Angehörige nahmen beim Besuch der Ausstellung in Wien Stellung.
