So is "Miss Otis Regrets" considered a public domain song by now? I've seen so many people cover this song, not saying there's anything wrong with that, the majority of the covers are stellar, it's just usually there's at least some controversy when it comes to covers. :D 5/5 for mrs. Carmen McRae.

When Carmen McRae played piano, on her last recordings, did she play any electric instruments such as the Wurlitzer 200, the Rhodes Mark I and the Yamaha CP70?

a most singular voice: you need no picture to know exactly who's singing. this is one of her most extraordinary recordgs (ive never heard it) w/her characteristic one-of-a-kind phrasing & elasticity of voice. of course she sang one of porters greatest narrative songs bobby short sang so often at the carlisle & she did it as porter would have never expected. I'm absolutely sure he would have adored her interpretation (as i do). many many thanks,kpjjazz!

This is, to me, the most beautiful rendition of Miss Otis ever. Carmen brings out the deepest emotions just right here. So few artists can deliver them naturally.
