If you look at how the mb tray is removed @ 2:00, you'll see that a tall cpu cooler will not pose any problems. This case is different than others that slide from the back, or require you to perform a tilt and lock.if you head on over to bit-tech, they mention in their review of this case that their asus square tower cooler fit with no issues.

The removable tray is useless if you have a big CPU cooler or the CPU socket is near the top margin of the MB. Any large CPU cooler will not fit due to the angle at which the mainboard tray needs to be reinserted. As a result, you will have to install the mainboard inside the case.

Yes it is. You can remove it and even turn it to face different directions.
