I must also add that Harison Instruments also makes both types of theremins.

Great question. The following manufacturers' theremins have the ability to change voice settings with knobs. Moog Music, Wavefront, PAiA, Tvox, and Kees Ankalaar (discontinued?).Theremins which do not posess knobs for voice charactor changing are produced by: Theremaniacs, Soundslikeurns, RCA (discontinued), J Car? Theremin Planet, possibly others. All theremins can be routed through effects devices to further change their tonal voice charactor. Check out my JHS Mods demo for an example.

On the Etherwave, can you change the voice either by using the knobs on it or connecting it to a computer or something? Can any theremins do that?

Thanks! That's worth knowing.

Nylon cable sleve can be obtained form computer case modification supply companies on line. You can get it in different colors, lengths, and widths. I used 3/8 inch sleve cut to cover my volume loop.At 1:13, I was squeezing the antenna. The sleeve not only solves the hickup, but when the antenna is grasped, your skin will be just outside yet another descrete zone. Squeezing lets you enter this zone, and the theremin sounds off as if being played normally. Pretty cool effect.

Very Interesting! My Standard sometimes "hiccups" if I touch the volume antenna. However, I've never heard of nylon cable sleeve; is it something I'd get at a hardware store? Also, what are you specifically doing at 1:13 and 1:23 that makes the theremin sound flute-like ... it's almost like a wooden school recorder or penny whistle?

sounds like 80's video game sound effects at times.
