The song was written by Bill Withers and Skip Scarborough and appears on Withers' 1978album Menagerie.

I remember FM radio DJs talking about the longest notes and breaths held on pop records. There was Lovely Day plus I'm All Out of Love 1980 by Air Supply, and Dim All The Lights (1979) by Donna Summer. My favorite does not involve a single note,rather its many notes from a single breath, is the incredible one in I Can See Clearly Now 1972 by Johnny Nash. All very good.
