I think this guys liver gave out. From what I heard it was his sexual life style that killed him. Gay sex is dirty. The liver cant handle all that exposure to filth.

C'mon, Allen is critical of both the left and right in this poem. The whole poem is about his expulsion from Czechoslavakia at the hands of the communists simply because he was embraced by the country's youth. He was left in that he believed in the idealism of redistributing wealth, and he was a progressive on the subject of human rights. He didn't like the totalitarian style of Marxism at all.

as i remember ginsberg supported communism, not sovietism which aren't the same thing. naive? yes, however, given the bland oppressive nature of the usa in the 50s it is not surprising that someone would go too far the other way attempting to break out. if you don't understand that then you really don't understand humanity...
