he is talking about how his Dad seemed indestructable and never showed any emotion but when his Grandpa died he realized that unsinkable ships sink, unbreakable walls break exetera"so behind every silver line is a cloud" thats my bro's motto and i can sort of relate the song to that because its saying that nothings perfect or indestructable that probly just made it evan more confuseing to some ppl but oh well

This Was my dads favorite song. it was played at his funural. he passed away in april from cancer and he fought it as hard as he could . R.I.P Daddy<3<3

this is how i feel too i had never seen my dad cry until my best frend who was like my brother died and he was even freinds with my dad.He wouldnt even go to the funeral he said it would just be to hard. And, it was hard specially when they took him to bury him i just couldnt stand the thought that my 13 year old brother had actually left me. And i still dont understand to this day why god had to take him from us.
