Wouldn't starting the vehicle in gear on a hill burn up the starter?

What size tires & lift? I want to get one in silver. Like the way yours looks.

I was in over my bumper in mud. The Ramcharger could barely get me out with all four of my tires spinning. Didn't know the conditions of this trail or what it looked like prior to the rain.

Now the driver was giving it just a bit too much gas and had no concept of using momentum. In the same vein there was a guy with a YJ with 35'' MTRs that had serious problems. And I saw my friend with Street Tires passing no problem. I believe any truck (that has at lest one locker) is a very capable off-road tool, it just up to the driver to understand where its limitations are.

I'm saying that it's too close to the ground because I've been off-roading in deep-snow (chilliwack, British Columbia) and I've seen a brand new Rubicon locked front and rear not being able to drive to some ruts that an un-locked FJ didn't have a problem with. This was because not only was the Rubicon dragging the diff, but you could see that it was rubbing the suspension and the gastank on the snow.

ok, they both have advantages and disadvantages off-road - and to take advantage of them you need a capable driver, something that is sorely missed in the off-road scene (though everybody thinks its a smee). Out of the box the Rubicon is too low to the ground and has too much stuff hanging on the bottom (the locker in the front is definitely a plus), but you you have to understand where it has its use.

They need to use a Lexus-sourced V8 in these things SO bad...

This was after I added the 3" Rough Country suspension kit that I won. Has BFG MTs also. Manual clutch start makes it easier because you don't have to slip the clutch when you stall on a hill. Try starting a manual when the vehicle is at a 45 degree incline. You don't want to roll back or slip the clutch and burn it up. |
