I live in a set of Council flats in Oldham. people callCouncil flats but we've only ever had one robbery since they were built and that was over 30 years ago. Where can boast that? Kids around here are kids. There's no hanging around the off licence drinking. They play football and kerby etc. I was very pleasantly surprised as I moved from somewhere considered nice (kids were awful and the adults weren't any better) to here. A place is only what you make it.

i live in watersheddings not a bad place in itself but it's sandwiched between two council estates(sholver and derker)..shame really. oldham was good once cos of its industrial value. now its just a muslim community and some of the council estates (wont name any in particular) are just filled with scum, crime and drugs these days i have nothing against council estates, my gran lives on one, my dad was raised on one,its the scum that think they rule em that i have something against

u all make out that oldham is crap, its beautiful (for the UK) as long as u stay away from the horrible council estates that are apart of every town. Sure, in general imigrants dont have any pride in there houses or roads but shaw, delph, lees are nice places to live. The option is put up with it or move to a nice country like austria
