Freddie Hubbard's records in the 50's and early 60's are what it's all about. Fantastic clip of an immortal genius.

That's when Freddie Hubbard still played jazz. By 1983, he had forgotten how to do that. It's "Moanin'". "So What" is a different tune.

I'm sorry to say but I'm 110% positive it was miles davis who wrote "so what."

Chill man, it wasn't in a music class, it was English! (He is an english teacher) Cut the guy some slack lol

If your teacher thought Moanin' was a Miles Davis chart, he/she doesn't deserve to be teaching jazz of any sort. Just because there is a clear call and response pattern between an initial melody and responding chords doesn't mean a chart sounds like another chart. All jazz and the blues was based of the call and response principle. Your teacher is an idiot.

Look, you all are a bunch of over-intellectualizing nerds who miss the point of the performances. Tqalking about modes and school jazz bands and who borrowed what licks from who marks you all as small minded bitches without an original thought. Shut the fuck up and enjoy the damn clip you LOSERS. LMAO

Bobby timmons wrote like every piece that sounds like moanin lol"so What", "dat Dere" all awsome heads even though extremely simular, you can defiantly tell them apart |
