Yep that was the first I heard of the Flirts as well, from Life in Pop dvd. I always thought 'In The Night' was soooooooo like this song! This is one of the best EVER songs!!!

Recently learned of the song from a PSB documentary, with Chris Lowe saying he played the 12" mix of this non-stop when it came out. As mentioned, the bass line of "In the Night" definitely gets its influence from here. The 7-note mini riffs definitely had to have influenced Harold Faltermeyer in writing the soundtrack to "Fletch" - the similarities are obvious.The first time I heard the song, I was underwhelmed (maybe because of the cheesy video). But it's definitely growing on me...
