Yes, in Australia we still reserve capital punishment for anyone caught with a copy of the Mad Max dubbing. The Goodies actually did effortless Oz accents and even Michael Caine at the end of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I clearly have too much time on my hands to worry about this.

So true, the American attempt at the Australian accent in that particular Simpsons episode sounded like the original dubbing of Mad Max.

and spare a thought for Australians who are impersonated as 1890s West Ham or Millwall fans. Not even The Simpsons came close.Australia`s accent can`t be that difficult to imitate, trust me, I`ve got one. god bless us, we really are insignificant.
