Aganju is the Yoruba god of Volcanoes and Deserts. He is related to deep emotion as well.

Aganju sounds like 'Egungu' which is the Yoruba word used to describe a guardian spirit for specific religious sects in traditional religion. During festivals, egungu is represented by a masquerade usually followed around by the adherents of that sect.
