Aganju is the Yoruba god of Volcanoes and Deserts. He is related to deep emotion as well.

Aganju sounds like 'Egungu' which is the Yoruba word used to describe a guardian spirit for specific religious sects in traditional religion. During festivals, egungu is represented by a masquerade usually followed around by the adherents of that sect.

The saints and this whole culture were brought by the Africans when they came to Brazil as slaves. "Aganjú" is everywhere, in San Francisco, in New York. "Aganjú" is magic and protection from Brazil. People get so hypnotized by this song, so maybe that is a good thing, they see the religion in my music.
