You're saying the word 'communism' is a antonym? That's bizarre. Nobody else defines it as having any more than one single meaning: socialism on steriods. And the Soviets only tried full communism once, in the 1920s and 1930s. It was a failure, even for them, and was dropped after less than 5 years. The USSR, as in 'Union of Soviet Socialist (not Communist) Republics', became a socialist experiment afterward, losing ground and support until it finally collapsed from internal rot in the 1980s.
