I have felt for about a decade now that this is the single greatest scene in cinematic history. I disgree with those who say Nicholson deserved to beat Pacino for the best actor award. Nicholson was fantastic for sure, but this is the greatest performance by most likely the greatest actor of all time. If there was an award for best of all time thos should be it.

The Attica Correctional Facility in Attica,NY.Attica[the town] is not much to look at but the prison is huge.

Attica was a prison. In 1971, I believe, the prisoners rioted and took control. They demanded better living conditions as they were only given 1 shower a week and 1 roll of toliet paper a month. Long story short, the police ended up dropping tear gas and shooting into the smoke for 2 mins. 39 people were killed, both prisoners and hostages. Yet another chapter in police brutality.
