It was only fitting spike died that way because the pain from losing his soulmate would've pushed him to suicide, and he didn't seem influenced by God....

yeah too true, but I heard that maybe the fortune teller was talking of Vicious (who could be considered a great warrior as well, and who just died by Spike's hand - well done, Spike.)... Well, those that wish for Spike to continuing living can dream at least. :)

when i frist seen comboy bebop on adult swim i dident even no what anime was, all i new is the stroy line came close to my life. and when i seen spike i was serprised how close to me that creator personally was. and thats why i liked the series. p:s see ya space cowboy

I'd have no problem with Spike living because I believe he was just confronting his inner demons, his past, he wasn't necessarily looking to die. However, the fortune teller tells Jet that his friend will die and I doubt the creators would want us to think that the fortune teller just made a mistake.

u guys are confusing this with the ending to Sapronos or sumthing, of course Spike died, why else would the movie take place in the middle of the series |
