To set the matter straight, Trivium WAS Metalcore. Their new album, "Shogun", is thrash and so was "The Crusade".

er, e tuning and drop tuning is only for a few things, the main one being for the ease of playing a power chord with one finger, a couple otehrs is for shredding, as its easier to play certain shapes from the base note up , being on the same string. also for a deeper sound on the open string. and ye i agree with u on wikipedia but if we wanna go on that line of convo then i can say they r also partly emo with vocals and partially punk too . but their main sound is either thrash or metal.
