Good to see a large and fit horse!!! He is obviously an eventer type seeing as he wants to power off after the jump. He obviously enjoys it!

If it does not bother you, could I ask you a few things? I would like to know how many times per week do you jump. I ride every day, but I only jump twice a week, since my horse is learning "everything". He should work hard on the flat...Thanks!

I Agree, its always good to chat to people from other countries just to see what they know. There is a fair few riders around where I live, it is defiantly known.

Thanks! He is a Zangersheide. I am from Argentina, and even if there are some good riders round here, they are not the majority. That is why I try to meet riders from other countries to share tips and experiences.Cheers!

That obviously exlplains that, and with how he is looking for a young horse, he will be an AMAZING horse as he gets older. Me too, I have only just started riding again after a few months and I cant keep away from my horse. Im from Queensland in Australia.

Yes, he is young. He is a fast learner, but he still does not understand basic things. You are right. I will keep trying for sure, I love this sport!Where are you from?
CowgirlIzzy (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Just keep working on it and it will work out, is he a young horse? He probably might not exactly understand what your asking just yet. But it will take work. Just keep trying =]

I hope so. I am riding a new horse and he still does not respect all instructions, so when I try to modify the arriving, he gets stiff or does not go further as quicly as he should. I am loosing confidence due to it. Thank you for the comments, I will trust you!

Once you get used to it, its actually quite easy, I could never do it but I started to try on small jumps with logs on the ground in front, and I got the hang of it quite easily. |
