Some of the first wrestling I watched was WWA wrestling. Every Saturday at noon (or 1 p.m. in the summer) got to watch great matches with Sam calling the matches. Bruiser, Wilber Snyder, Paul Christy Jerry Valiant and of course Bobo Brazil

This was the promotion that rocked Chicago in the 60's and 70's! The WWA, owned and operated by Dick the Bruiser! This was when Wrestling was great!

I remember seeing Dick the Bruiser (and the Crusher) @ the Amphitheatre in Chicago, when they alternated between there and the Hammond Civic Center on Saturday nights. Great stuff and the fans went ape shit when he came out.....

I can remember going to PS #74 in Indianapolis, and during recess, wrapping my thumb up with paper towels and masking tape so I could be like Ernie Ladd. Jabbed quite a few throats in my day...

Anyone remember Bruiser and Crusher doing a X-mas interview? Bruiser comes out with "Ho Ho Ho, it's old Saint Dick and Crusher has a blond over his shoulder. Gene Okerland could hardly contain himself and was almost crying tryng not to laugh. |
