hey what kind of reel is that? how many pound tested is that line?

We measure all of our fish...Here is a chart from the IGFA on the length/weight conversion on largemouth bass.a 20" bass is estimated at 5 pounds...a 21" bass is 5.78 lbs....a 22" is 6.65 lbs...a 23" is 7.60 lbs....a 24" is 8.86 lbs.Argue with me if you will oh wise one... but the IGFA is tough to refute. Our bass in Florida will eat your bass in Tennessee!

That second fish is nowhere near a "4 or 5 pounder" It's not even a 3lb.I've caught thousands of those skinny South Florida canal bass. I know when I see a 6-7 pounder and that first fish is definitely not! You could barely fit 4 fingers into that "6 or 7 pound" bass' mouth. Those 4 bass MIGHT total 15 lbs... not 20.The first fish was long enough to be a 6 pounder but way too skinny to even by close to that.

Thanks for the comments! I disagree though...The first fish landed was 23 inches long. That in my world equals at least a 6 pound fish and closer to 7. I had one the other day you can see on my website in the fishing reports section that went 8 pounds 8 ounces and was only 24 1/4 inches long. Dont know how many Florida bass you catch but I see thousands a year and am pretty good at estimating their size by lenghth. I have a great pair of binocolars by the way. Tight lines,Steve

You are overestimating the size of those bass quite a bit. Sure you're not wearing binoculars when you're looking at those bass?Regardless, those are still nice bass.
