Humvee is great but not for mines and roadside bombs and IEDs. It can still be used for low hostile zones.

Hummvee is just fine for what it was designed for, a rear echelon rapid transport. It was never designed to go toe to toe with mines or IEDs. So it's obviously not going to fair too well against them. That said, I love the MRAPs, possibly the best piece of equipment on the ground in Iraq (aside from the troops of course). Finally have something designed for the issue at hand running the convoys.

It's an old design. My dad worked in a v-hull modded Landy in what was then Rhodesia.

i like seeing money being spent on these ingenious pieces of machine: they help people unlike all other army machines

It's still heavy armor, regardless of the V-body design.
Desoxyri (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
It's not the heavy armour, but the V shape of the hull that directs the blast outwards in stead of upwards. It's ingenious. |
