ok iam gonna let you in a a little secret. Most police cars are now being fitted with MORE bullet resistant armor. Each having different threat levels. But don't get me wrong not all police cars have this. Hideing behind the car door just makes them less of a visiable target. Remember, movies are movies, real life is real life. Don't get them confused.

i saw that few years ago, and the ordinary police is so unprepared on USA, they hide themselfs behind cars doors, just like in the movies, the AK bullet just destroyed the car and the police officer behind it.if i remember well, swat got in there too late, the guys just walked street after street, one suicide and the other got arrested by ordinary police officers.
