Depends which Soundgarden you're looking for. The sludgy metal sound is on their first 3 albums, especially Badmotorfinger. Superunknown is more straightforward grunge. Down on the Upside is sort of the two mixed. Some of their most popular songs are: Outshined, Jesus Christ Pose, Rusty Cage, Searching With my Good Eye Closed, Burden in my Hand, Hands all over, Let me Drown, My Wave, Fell on Black Days, Black Hole Sun, Spoonman and Day I Tried to Live. Any song by this band is awesome though.

"Oh, do you play the guitar too?" Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain to Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin at the Music Historical.P.S. Soundgarden did some things Zep didn't do. Plant certainly didn't set the tone for vocals. Some people don't like a higher pitched British male rock voice. American men sound better. Cornell is better than most, although Layne Staley gave him a run for his money. Exception is Thom York of Radiohead. Not bad for a Brit. Lyrics-wise, Soundgarden beats ANYONE.

dude shut the fuck up, really. i cant believe you just compared page to this dude. dont get me wrong, good guitar here, better vocals for sure. but dont compare them to people who set the tone for hard rock.

Grab up their "A sides" CD, it's a best hits compilation and spans their career pretty well. |
