I don't think we need to have a discussion about this. No need to discuss the audibility of a singer who sang Violetta at the Arena di Verona when she was nearly 60.

The "audibility" of a voice often has far more to do with focus than with size, which is why small, light, bright voices carry acoustically over a whole orchestra and chorus. It's the same phenomenon as a single piccolo being heard over a whole orchestra.
