took the words right outta my mouth.indeed i am opposed to this, but i definitely would want to live forever!but of course there is another way... a simpler way of just having to pass on your genes to the next generation; just have kids. the problem is that we, as a species, with our propensity to reproduce like rabbits, may be propagating ourselves to near extinction soon enough. natural resources are being consumed at an exponential rate!

Why do people think it is unnatural? We are the most intelligent species on earth, it is natural that we should advance, the most powerful of instincts in all animals is to survive - it just so happens that we are the first species as intelligent and well equipt enough to truly put that into practice.

The only reason people are opposed to this is because in admitting you want to live for ever and that death is a bad thing you are breaking down all the protection mechanisms which are built into our minds to cope with the idea of mortality.

You should try and live a healthy lifestyle now to prepare for the future. The healthier you are before this treatment comes around, the better the chances you have for it to work! So exercise and eat a bag of chips less frequently.

not not mention the complexity of the human body...I've been able to watch the video now, and oh my God. His way of arguing is so damn straight, it doesn't surprise me that a lot of people feel like it's a good idea for humans to become a 1000 years old. Forget about the consequences. Forget about the moral aspects. Don't even try to think about them! You'll just get a headache. And we don't want that, do we? (Just like we didn't want the atomic bomb to become a weapon for mass destruction.)

agreed. it is not wise to transfer the ability to live forever from that animal to humans, expecially considering that this is an animal that does not change its state during life at all, while humans change their state everyday and could not exist in their form without doing so, i.e. they could not learn.

We call it "Süßwasserpolypen". I haven't watched the video because it says that it's unavailable, but...SERIOUSLY? He draws conclusions from a hydra? Excuse me while I laugh my ass of. About that and all of his ideas in general. No, wait. It actually makes me want to cry...

now i found it. "Hydra (genus)". it sais: "The nervous system of the Hydra is a nerve net, which is structurally simple compared to mammalian nervous systems." |
