I agree. I love her newfound passion for bel canto repitoire. It really shows a new, passionate side of her. Personally, I LOVE her then AND now. Though her voice has changed, it's an interesting change and I don't think or a second she's a "what was" Callas. If anything, she's a "what's now and awesome" diva! I agree it's a little slow in some parts, but Sumi Jo goes even slower!

It's a lovely ending :) I have no idea why some omit it...must be one of the most fantastic endings ever composed! (at least opera-wise...)

no the agreement. the voice is reduced to its simpler expression. Where are Anderson, Devia, Callas, Aliberti, Sutherland, Scotto. Ok if one forgets all these last = Dessay is well, even very well.

what is the section that begins at 4:30....I love this part and it kills me that most sopranos omitt this part. Why is that?

The high note at the end is amazing! I love her.

I miss the absolute ease with which she used to sing everything. She's struggling too much with the music for my taste, and her vibrato is too loose. The middle is is still beautiful, though.

Her voice is less high-pithched and not as powerful as she was. However all professionals agree to say her voice is more colourful, more lyrical. I understand you miss the queen of coloratura she was, but I think you can't say her voice is less beautiful. |
