Yes, OceanSwimmer, I just read that (M. dedicated it to his wife) in 'Mozart' by Solomon, which I am currently reading. Solomon's theory is that it was one of the piece's (The Great Mass) that he wrote purely out of inspiration and joy, not for money or commission, and that this composition also expressed his desire to see reconciliation with his family.

Also, on 6:07, there is a type in the soprano part. I believe it should be written G - F# - F# instead of G - F# - G.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Mozart wrote this Mass and dedicated to his wife, Constanze; they were newly married. The Kyrie has to be the most beautiful I've heard...the longing for God and complete surrender to Him is palpable. I think he was touched by God.

measure 58 @ 4:10 seems to be missing an 8th-note rest...unless Mozart intended this to be a jazz piece. LOL

I love Felicity Lott's voice...so beautiful and powerful all at once. She seems to really be entreating to God..

and let me say what hast 2 be said about Mozart, the greatest man who ever lived:He was no Alcoholic as many ppl think and even the movie "Amadeus" says. His wife Constanze said it and the fact, that mozart composed so much and great in such a short time, confutes these unverified stories ! He was a workaholic not an alcoholic. And the reason why he had no money was that he had so many enviers and haters that damaged him. But a true fact of "amadeus" is that he rly claimed that he was poisoned

ye some1 who feels the same!the beginning is rly incredible this soft and emotional melody and also his instrument election: this hollow and challange bass by the organ and cello/contrabassand all in crescendo, just mind blowing at the end of the beginning u think god will appear in the next secondsIm always freezing with the greatest respect for this man when im hearing his godlike music
