During this period only Lata's voice could carry this delicate complex tune. Plus the innocence of her voice!! Companion songs to this are "Jogiase preet kiye dukh hoye" fron Garam Coat; "Jyoti kalash chhalke" from Bhabhi Ki Choodiyan; "Tumhari yaadmein hum kitna roye" from Shin Shinaki Babla Boo; "Balma bada nadaan re" from Albela; & "Hai kahinpe shaadmani aur kahin nashaadiyan" from Andhiyan (this 4-part song was released on two 78rpm records).

I am too small a person to offer any comments on this melodious song in Lataji's Golden voice. I dare say no one from the present generation can ever produce such a number. The contemporary musicians say they are only catering to the needs & choice of the younger generation of India but I challenge them to give us one sunch song as SAMPLE to prove they can doit.R. What a coincidence that one of the finest Lata melodies ever should be picturized on an unknown face (I daresay?) in a Suraiya film.. an "item number" of its times :) If only all item numbers were like this..

Lata is incredibly sweet and so are Suraiya's expressions :) |
