Airdefence and Command Frigates are how they are called, They carry a mixture of 32 Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles and 32 Standard Missile 2ER and in the future room for 8 SM3-ABM's in a Mk41 VLS. Further 8 Harpoon SSM, a 127mm gun, 2 30mm goalkeepers, 2 20mm guns, 4 torpedotubes and ofcourse, the most powerfull radar combination the world have ever seen!

Misschien had ik duidelijker moeten zijn. Ja de OPVs zullen bepaalde taken op zich nemen die nu door M fregatten worden uitgevoerd maar het OPV is alleen geschikt voor optreden in het lage geweldsspectrum in tegenstelling tot de M fregatten.

je zegt het zelf al in je quote uit de 2005 marine studie, de marine wil andere schepen om zich aan de eisen van de tijd aan te passen. ik zou ook liever meer geld voor de marine zien zodat de verkoop niet nodig is.

It's not a replacement of the M frigate. Read the 2005 Marine studie.

It's going to be the replacement fot the Karel Doorman class frigates. Hogo won't need to be bothered, we can't hurt him anymore.
