The first song is Cool Out Son by Junior Murvin, best known for the song Police And Thieves, a Lee Perry production. Cool Out Son is a version of the song Armageddon Time. Both Armageddon Time and Police And Thieves were covered by The Clash. Daddy Roy Rules!!

I agree 100%...he was the first DJ/toastster to put lyrics on record. I had a disagreement with a American girl a few months back telling her that rapping today started in Jamaica. Bless

I grew up in jamaica in the late sixties and 70's and grew up listening to Uroy on the radio toasting. back then it was not called Rapping. Its a pity he is recognized by the American Music Industry for his contribution to RAP/HIP HOP. Anyway, so what? We have great music too and are happy to share it nevertheless.
