I think it's partly due to his pickups, they are custom made and only available in his signature model, called 'big dippers', they have something done to the mids, and very low output, so he drives his amp more. He also says in one of the other 'abbey' videos, to turn the bluesbreaker up, which is a Marshall pedal. I have can get a similar tone with my fender blues jr. with the bluesbreaker pedal. A lot of it is down to practice, but yes, WHAT A SOLO and TONE!!!

he has sucha great tone on that guitar. any one know what equipment he's using here? this man is incredible! saw this song live. INCREDIBLE
