Some failed Guitar players end up playing bass, the first four strings are the same as bass. Hasten to add not in the case of Mike Oldfield.

Mike Is A Miracle In The Music . I remember was a child 1982-1985 and my music then is hard rock ( sabbath- zeppelin - purple). When i hearing mike something change inside me . Thanks Mike forto the music especialy for my memories.

Yes he started out on bass apparently (after the classical guitar at home)amazing how some great guitarists started on bass, but it makes sense musically.

Yes. you are right of course. Oldfield picks up the bass for the solo. I'm so used to Phil Spalding being a bass player I made the assumption.
