Have a peloquin limited slip diff which really helps a lot. Toyo Proxes t1R in 215/40 R17 also helps as wider than normal. Usually it is still wheelspin city until 3rd gear.

170 is OK - But once done, learn not to hammer the car too hard around 1500rpm. Keep full throttle for 2000rpm and above where it's more clutch friendly. If you plan to go above 170 I'd start setting aside around £600 for a better clutch & flywheel. :-) Thanks

Clutch is a 600 lb/ft affair. Gearbox is built very well on these 6 speeds, and the diff is from Peloquin so should be OK. Still using stock driveshafts which might prove a weak link in the long run.

clutch and gearbox cope ok??

black smoke is not unhealthy for a diesel. Just shows a good amount of fuel is being injected. Search for "tractor pulling UK" on youtube and see how much smoke they push out. I agree smoke is very anti-social and I would like to minimise it, but it's not bad for a tuned diesel to chuck out some of the black stuff off boost - It cleans up once the turbo kicks in. :-)
