What makes me suspicious is that it's discomforting to receive a pessimistic lecture by the man who claims to have discovered positivity.

Sory, I mean he says "Psychology can make people less miserable", that's two negatives! Why didn't he say "Psychology can make people happy", or "Positive psychology makes people happy". The assertion "it's possible for psychology to help slightly unhappy people feel slightly better" doesn't sound that positive to me!

He doesn't sound optimistic!

Oh shut it. If you're going to parrot this self-help shit just post a link. It's carbon-copy plagiarism. Do you have a personality?

Yes - present in the moment is mindfullness. There are simple excercizes you can try. Count your steps or say "tap, tap" with each footstep. When you meditate or are trying to deal with worry, label the thoughts; actually stopping on your way to look and appreciate something. A flower; a conversation with someone at the checkout station.

teenagers are being banned from making comments until they learn how to express themselves without resorting to insults or jibes · it's official and very welcome
