I know he used Vigier guitars from the late 90's until his death. He often used a Line-6 delay modeler as well, sometimes he had multiple delays on at a time. For amps, I've heard him talk about his Holmes amps which are solid state I believe. I'm not too sure about the amps though...I'm sure someone would know better than me. Hope that helps a little bit

That is a warm tone!Which gear did he use?

I suppose if you compare him to mainstream music, then you are right, lovekurt! Mind you, even people we think of as very famous will not be known to everybody, even Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson, for instance...

I'd say underground still. Once you're into instrumental music and guitarists and all that, that's what you focus the most and talk to people who has same interest. So you feel everybody knows Shawn. But really, worldwide, he really isn't known!! Well that's what I think at least.

He had his fans, quite a few probably. He wasn't mainstream, and he wasn't very underground. Hard to explain or gauge really!

He was taken away far too early. Was he as appreciated as much in his time (I was too young when he died so I wouldn't know)? |
