Ever miss your favorite Sims 2 loading screen? My favorite was the Open for Business and Glamour Life loading screens. I was sad when installing the next expansion and realized that I wouldn't see those anymore. With with the release of the Sims 2 expansions the logo and loading screen would change and you would no longer see the previous one. Here is your chance to look back and reminisce. For those who care not to reminise, you still might find this interesting as it also reflects changes in the design team staff and EA logos that were happening as the game progressed. I don't know if this happens to every video game, but The Sims 2 saw a lot of roll-over in staff in it's short fours years of development, beginning with Will Wright leaving to develop Spore in January 2004. Others gradually left to develop Sims 3. Luc Barthelet left to take on the restructuring of the failed TSO/EALand.This video focuses on the evolution of the The Sims 2 and expansion box shots, splash screen (which remains the same throughout, so I only show it once), the loading screens with the different sound tracks, the text lines that scroll at the bottom of the screen, and the EA and Maxis logos that appear when starting the game up. There were a few packs that don't change the loading screen. Those are Celebration, H&M, Teen Stuff, and Kitchen & Bath. The EA logo changed a few times as the game evolved. The "Challenge Everything" logo appears for the first two, it changes to a metalic EA logo for the next three expansions, then finally the "Sood Sood" EA logo appears for the remaining packs starting with Glamour Life. The Maxis logo no longer appeared starting with The Pets Expansion. Also I found when looking at the UItext package in the game files, one of the text lines on the Sims 2 base game loading screen was originally "chlorinating gene pools" and was changed to "chlorinating car pools." I wonder why since "gene pools" seems funnier to me. Expansion order is as follows Sims 2, University, Night Life, Open For Business, Family Fun, Glamour Life, Pets, Seasons, Celebration, H&M, Bon Voyage, Teen Stuff, Free Time, Kitchen & Bath, Apartment Life (not included in video since as of this date has not been released.)

The Open for Business one brings back memories. I'd hear it a lot because I would always get the blue screen of death. I got a better computer but I now have the Apartment life one playing. Open For Business is my favourite too.

The music for Open for Business was always my favorite music in the game. That and "Makeover" for the Build/Buy mode.
