There's alot more to Zane Grey than hust being a writer. He studied to be a dentist in college. He was a minor league baseball player in New Jersey and even played one major league game for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He lived in Lackawaxen with his wife and children after leaving his dental practice in New York. Then later moved to California. The Zanesville house was only his childhood home for the first 17 years of his life.

We greatly appreciate your efforts to highlight one of the many exciting attractions in Zanesville, but I think you were misled by our sign. The marker you videotaped was to designate the district of McIntire Terrace & Zane Grey's home. His home is actually located at 705 Convers Ave. -just up the street. It has a very large historic marker in front of it. Many thanks for your efforts, please come back to visit & tape more neat locations like our Y-bridge. - Dan Vincent, Zanesville City Council |
