Not his fault. Bigger the shot the more chance of this happening. I run 250 shot as well with big shot plate, spaying in my pro street camaro w 505ci bb chevy in 2nd to 3rd gear at 4500+ rpm. Touch finger on button= boom! Burned air cleaner and twin predator carbs. Put two holleys on in the pits, fired right back up raced the rest of the day. freaky shit though.

no that guy probably hasnt tore down the motor since it was built thats most likely why it blew up too hell i only tear down my motor like 3 times a year

im guessing its a manual, and as soon as he left the line the revs dropped under 3000rpm while he was at WOT, nitrous activated at to lowa revs. but i could be wrong its hard to tell
