"in the volume swell part i'm almost certain he uses some sort of moderate vibrato as well. "i think he just has a bit of delay tuned in on the "Swell" function of the DL-4. in swell mode you can add repeat/delay - i think he uses this to lengthen the sound of the trails*shrugs*

shame, its such an epic piece.Ive seen them before live too, and greet death was perfect, they should fire the sound engineer! the bass is mad loud, and even the kick(drum) is way too loud too

It's not just you. I was at the show and it sounded exactly like that. Computer speakers don't do it much justice but that's about what it sounded like. They had the level way too high to begin with. I have seen them live before and the bass didn't sound like that.
