LoLoLoLMAO @ 4:00 - "YO, DRifT KinG! what the.!." and "Kiss my rear end Jyuichi, Ha!" !!!!!!! Well of course the easiest path between any 2 points IS a straight line...but wise man once say "the RiGhT path, is not always the EaSiEsT....." Still, just seeing & hearing J-Boy's reaction at getting OwNeD by Tsuchiya's/Orido's *cRoOkEd* move is w*t*f***ing hiLaRiOuS!!!!

I think it was because people wanted more torque. The 2L and the 2.2L have the same HP but the 2.2L has about 16 more ft/lb of torque if I remember correctly. It makes the car quicker off the line and a bit more docile in casual driving. But you sacrifice the 9000 RPM redline and a little bit of time in VTEC. I have a 2006 S2000 in the US so mine is a 2.2L. If I had the opportunity to take it to the track I might have preferred the 2L, but it's a daily driver for me so I'm very happy with it. :)

why did they change in the US?
iamloudmusic (May 9, 2008 at 7:05 pm)
That was only in the North American market. Everyone else kept the 2L engine with the 9000 RPM redline.

why the hell does the new gen 04 s2k still have 9k redline?!!? wtf. it should be 8k. Look carefully.

depending on the carthe s2000 is pushed pretty far for in stock trim so intake an exhaust with a programer might only get you arround 10hpbut a stock hemi charger is pretty pluged up from the factory and i have seen 50+whp gains with a cold air intake and cat back and exhaust and a programer (and thats on 87octane) it's all about the engine there is no set ammount og gain

lol a full exhasut and an intake will see an increase of 25 - 30 hp if they are high quality parts ....what you on about mate.

Seriously? That has to be the biggest nit-pick comment I've ever read. Excuse me for wording my comment in a slightly confusing manner. I guess I'll clarify- By "gearing them up" I do not mean going to a taller gearing, IE changing the stock 4.1 to a 2.73 or something. I meant going to a higher final drive ratio, like a 4.44, 4.56, or 4.77. I will admit that my last comment could have been misread to mean the former instead of the latter, but jeeze, that's being picky.

Hmm I think gearing them up would make them slower.... I think you mean gearing them down for better acceleration. |
