Hey everyone. I have a grand to burn and im looking at a new guitar, i have been playing for a while, and mainly play all genres of rock (from Metal to Classic) but also like to dabble in other genres. It needs to be durable and versatile. Im open to all suggestions! BTW can you remember guitars here In Australia are a hell of a lot more expensive than in America!

actully i find alot of curved tops make the guitar have a slight lean just at the bottem which gives the guitar more comfort if you play a little tillted, but i know its mainly for looks. this guitar is the most versitle ive played for under 500. metal, jazz, punk, also, woods give better tone, but 90 percent of its from pickups, you can get a shit guitar, put emgs in it and itll sound really good metal wise. also, prs guitars are like 2000 :/

Yeah flat top actually means the top of the guitar, none of this about anything touching your knee. If you look at most PRS guitars, the top (the part with all the strings and business bits on it) is carved and contoured (clearly visible if you look at it from the side). This guitar is much crappier, it doesn't seem worth the money to me. It's got a flat strat-like top which along with cheaper wood makes the guitar lose most of the fine tonal qualities of PRS guitars.

flat tops are when the guitar is flat, curved is where theres a curve, making it look cooler and fit on your knee better.
