*snort* I remember it, too. I loved it then, but now I find the pace too fast; I felt like I was about to have a seizure at any moment. But the tune will never grow old. Mason Williams is a rare talent: comedy writer, musician, author.I really miss the Smothers Brothers.

It is moments like these that I once again find that my memory isn't warped and that a seemingly completely lost experience was real! I too remember that video despite being very young. Before it occurred, I remember the Smothers explaining how it would be done and it seemed to me almost impossible magic. I do remember Tom saying something about "the entire history" and they gave it a big run up. Thank you!!!!!! for posting this gem. I cannot tell you how powerful this is!

Yes, Pat Paulsen was one, but a singer featured on the show went on to sing three award-winning songs.I am sure you will have the time of your life if you know who it is.

I could be wrong I but remember a version where instead of famous paintings they showed scenes of american history from the beginning to 1968.

I remember the first broadcast of this from '68 so well. I loved it, then as much as now, but this version seems actually slightly slower, if that can be believed. But the best part was after the video ended, before they cut to a commercial; The announcer said "You have just seen 3000 years of the greatest paintings..." (pause) "You are now cultured." That was hysterical!
