I think that's a pretty realistic world view. Most people do what's requested of them, whether that is to pursue a carreer, recycle or whatever. Then there are the free thinkers; a vast minority in society but the only ones truly able to understand and maybe also revolutionize what society is. Without coming off as a cynic; maybe freedom of choice isn't for everyone?

I almost agree with kipshiux333, but my estimation is that every role of each member of this society makes no sense. The work they do has no result, just carrying water from nowhere to nowhere, like the person which the bird meets at beginning and leaves at the end. The bird is an alien because he knows real freedom and is not tied by any limitations and duty. This society has very strong protection against any unusual situation. Just look at "nails" episode. Everything returns to status-quo

It's so strange, this cartoon. It seems so meaningless, but after watching it a few times, I get the feeling that it represents the society, with everyone doing their parts as members of it. Everyone doing what they want... But that's only my opinion :)

What I love is the absolute absurdity in it. And yet it's not absurdity. It obviously means something, at least to him, because I'll tell you; drawing a single weird picture is one thing, but to care enough to ANIMATE it is an entirely different thing.Masterfully done.
