I think this song inspired the end to the national 55 speed limit. I remember seeing stickers all over the place (55 mph with red slash across it) when this song came out. Politicians do cave in when the public pressures them.

and all of a sudden all young bands now wanna do cover of gh songs like with my friends we were thinking about starting a band and decided to pick songs for fun sure i pick like jimi hendrix and rush but all out of a sudden they go lets play one by mettalica and paint it black and dragonforce and knights of cydonia and gh3 just came out about three weeks early and im wondering why the hell are you guys picking these songs when we can choose any song out there but noooo we have to ply wat gh has

I'm glad there are more people out there that hate how Guitar Hero depreciates music. I got no beef with the game itself, just how now that it's exploded on the market, people are confusing real music with a rhythm game. The songs on GH fly off iTunes!Anyone else feel that GH actually 'ruins' songs? I used to play GH2 and I just can't listen to them anymore on the radio.People who dl GH songs just don't understand what music is. It's like the people who love Big Shiny Tunes.

Just watch ANY clip whose music was in guitar hero, and you'll be SURE to find people talking about guitar hero, how they're good at this song, how they prefer the GH version and all... God damn fags they are.It'd make them cool if they had a REAL guitar and discovered this song some other way than with GH and could actually play it, but playing it on a plastic controller doesn't make them cool, but they still haven't realized it.

I fully agree. A few months ago, people would have no idea who Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, or Steve Vai are. GH comes out, eventually releases the Virtuoso Pack (Buckethead? How 'bout Malmsteen?) and suddenly everyone says, "Oh, I love those guys. They're great." They still don't believe that Satch is the greatest guitarist ever...Also note that, once a song is on a music game, it suddenly appears all over Youtube. People covering it or beating it on GH. Note "beating" it, not playing it

When I saw him play this live, it was intense. If you like this, check out his album VOA, including the title track.I'm kinda sad this will be on Fisher Price Hero. People will start saying 'I love Sammy Hagar', knowing only this song because of the game. I hate how Guitar Hero does that. If you didn't think that the music industry is married to corporate money-making, GH and RB prove it. Music's a joke now. Common...Rhianna, a musician?BTW, watch Before the Music Dies. It's great.
