Since the rationale for trailer side underide systems is 229 people are killed every year, shouldn't we put speed governors on all vehicles, since exessive speeding causes 100 times as many fatality accidents every year (20,000+). How about "tree protection systems" since 50 times as many fatalities are caused by a single vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a stationary object. Heck, let's just rap everything in a protective layer of foam rubber & wear helmets & pads so everyone is safe.

Written and edited by Brandon Blockhead...stupid fourwheelers drive under a 13' 6" X 53' object, blame it on the space they tried to fill!!!!

you could put a big neon sign on the back and sides of a truck and people will still run into them....how about people paying attention while there driving? i mean its not like all the reflective tape and the 45-53' trailer aren't noticeable from how far away?...

cars cannot pull one ton because the engine and drivetrain are not built to pull it if ya look at it a truck can only pull about twice to 3 times its weight an average semi weighs 13 tons thats 26000 poundsa tractor can only pull a max weight load of 52000 pounds with the weight of the tractor the gross combo weight of a vehicle can only be 80000 pounds with three 5 axles 12000 on the front axle a combined 34000 on the drive tires and 34000 on the trailer tires

Tell you what if you pay for every one we would but them on the trailers. Also you have to pay us for the lost fright because we weight more unloaded and can't haul as much and with the fuel costs today every little but makes a huge difference. So unless you are a billionaire I suggest you shut up! Try and drive for a living.

I drive everyday both in my own truck(4 wheeler) and in the semi. I have logged over 150,000 miles in my personal truck and about 200,000 miles in the semi I drive. Every semi I have driven has features into that take 5 to 15 years before they even show up in cars/trucks. I also drive with people all over the world here in the USA and they all tell me the same thing the equipment here in the USA if far superior to what they were driving. One person even said it is light years in difference.

Excelent recomendation for our truckcongratulation from Perú

You have that backwards. 73% of car/truck accidents are the fault of the car driver. It is the car driver that needs to learn how to share the road with trucks.

Well Genius ... it's been shown that more than 70% of trucking accidents are due to truck driver error. Maybe when your wife or kid get decapitated a trailer driven by a negligent truck driver that's high on speed or logged too many hours, you might be smart enough to say: "Gee .. maybe we should've added guards ... duh." Until then ... go suck an egg.
