they never sold out. unlike many bands i know this album is damn far away from mainstream. i can admit it wasnt their best album but it still is great

yea it is. they went from thrash metal to like hard rock is what i would call it and got rid of kirks sickass solos just to appeal to mainstream fans. i would call that sellin out

Dude this cd sucked. Im a fan of the old metallica. I respected this band until they sold out and changed there style. They were very original up until st anger. They already had a huge fan base and they were trying to get more by going mainstream. But it backfired. a lot of ppl including me lost major respect for them after this album. It pisses me off that they would sellout after 20+ years of hard ass fuckin metal. They got rid of the guitar solos that made them so original, just to conform!!
